The primary objective of this tender is to procure a reliable, compliant supplier for autoclave indicator tapes to support infection prevention and sterilization monitoring at RK Khan Hospital. Scope

The scope covers a one-off supply and delivery of 3,000 units of autoclave indicator tape (24mm x 50m rolls) to the hospital. The contract includes full delivery logistics, with all transport costs embedded in the quoted price. The quotation validity period is 90 days, and the contract operates under the South African government's 80/20 preferential procurement framework, allocating 20 points to bidders who are at least 51% Black-owned. Submission is strictly physical, using official unaltered government forms, and requires compliance with Central Suppliers Database (CSD) registration and tax clearance verification.

Technical Requirements

• Adhesion & Compatibility: Self-adhesive tape must securely bond to all types of sterilization packaging materials.
• Chemical Indication: Must act as a chemical process indicator that changes colour when exposed to saturated steam, confirming the sterilization cycle has occurred.
• Ink Stability: Printed ink must not bleed or penetrate the substrate or wrap during heat and moisture exposure.
• Quality Compliance: Products must meet ISO 9001 / 1140-1:2005 Class 1 or CKS 224:-1970 standards. An independent certification (e.g., SABS) must be provided.
• Accreditation Marking: Items must display the SANAS logo.
• Condition & Shelf Life: Only new, unused products are accepted. All delivered stock must retain a minimum of six months' shelf life from the delivery date.
