Technical Requirements

• Product Specifications: Eye patches intended for occlusion therapy, measuring 5.7 cm × 8.2 cm. Must be thin, lightweight, neutral in colour, and equipped with a peelable adhesive backing.
• Packaging: 20 patches per box.
• Quality & Certification: All products must display the SANAS logo, confirming accredited manufacturing and testing standards. Goods must be brand new, unused, and possess a minimum shelf-life validity of six months upon delivery.
• Mandatory Documentation: Bidders must provide a valid BBBEE certificate, a sworn affidavit/certificate, and proof of active Central Suppliers Database (CSD) registration. SARS PIN verification for tax compliance status is compulsory.
• Submission Protocol: Quotations must be completed on official government forms without alteration or retyping. Documents must be placed in sealed envelopes clearly labelled with the quotation number and closing date, then physically deposited in the designated tender box before the stipulated deadline. • SANAS Logo Requirement: Refers to the South African National Accreditation System. Its presence indicates that the manufacturer's testing laboratories are formally accredited, ensuring products meet rigorous national safety and performance benchmarks for healthcare use.
• Warranty Coverage: Supplied goods carry a twelve-month warranty from the date of delivery acceptance, or eighteen months from the shipment date, whichever expires first. This covers defects arising from design, materials, or workmanship under normal usage.
• Penalties & Termination: Standard General Conditions of Contract apply. Late deliveries incur daily financial penalties calculated at the current prime interest rate. The purchaser retains the right to terminate agreements for default, non-compliance, or corrupt/fraudulent conduct, which may result in a prohibition from public sector procurement for up to ten years.
