Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply of PPE Formidable Epidemic Disease Packs to RK Khan Hospital, ensuring the availability of essential protective equipment for handling highly infectious patients, in accordance with specified standards and specifications.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of 80 PPE epidemic disease packs, each containing specified items such as surgical scrubs, coveralls, underwear, shoe covers, goggles, face shields, masks, gloves, aprons, and elastic bands. The procurement is a once-off requirement, with delivery to RK Khan Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, adhering to the detailed specifications provided.

Technical Requirements

• Items must be packed in blue steri-field paper and securely sealed, preferably in transparent sterilized item packaging.
• Packs must be labeled with company details, size, production and expiry dates, non-sterile status, latex-free indication, and lot/quantity information.
• Items included:
  • Surgical scrubs – disposable, non-woven polypropylene, anti-static, fluid resistant, tear resistant, in blue, with secure seams.
  • Coverall – disposable, abrasion resistant spun-bound polypropylene, with breathable microporous middle layer, elasticated hood, wrists, and seam protection, in white.
  • Underwear – disposable, unisex, elasticated, breathable, in blue.
  • Shoe and boot covers – disposable, elasticated, fluid resistant, in blue.
  • Surgical hood – disposable, anti-static, fluid resistant, elasticated, in blue.
  • Goggles – disposable, anti-scratch, anti-fog, polycarbonate lenses, full coverage.
  • Full face shield – disposable, optically clear, anti-fog, fits over goggles.
  • Apron – disposable, knee length, plastic.
  • Long cuffed surgical gloves – disposable, in pairs.
  • N95 masks – two types, fit tested, compliant with SANS 1866:2.
  • Coloured medical examination gloves – latex free, in blue.
  • Elastic bands – brown, at least 5mm diameter.
• Items must conform to specified standards, including SANAS certification where applicable.
• Packaging must prevent damage during transit and storage, with clear labeling and instructions.

Skills Requirements

• Proficiency in manufacturing PPE according to international and local standards, including SANAS accreditation.
• Capability to produce PPE that meets detailed technical specifications for safety, durability, and usability.
• Experience in packaging and labeling PPE packs to comply with health and safety regulations.
• Ability to supply in accordance with specified delivery timelines and quality assurance processes.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for PPE, including compliance with SANAS and other relevant bodies.
• Competence in documentation, including providing valid BBBEE certificates, sworn affidavits, SANAS logos, and other compliance certificates.
