Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a non-refrigerated, large floor-standing centrifuge for the Umtata Viro Lab. The selected service provider will be responsible for supplying and installing the specified centrifuge to meet the laboratory's operational needs.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of one (1) non-refrigerated, large floor-standing centrifuge suitable for laboratory use.
• Supply, delivery, and installation of the centrifuge at the Umtata Viro Lab.
• Ensuring the equipment meets the technical specifications outlined in the tender.
• Providing necessary documentation, compliance, and support as per contractual requirements.

Technical Requirements

The centrifuge must meet the following specifications:

• Floor-standing design with a drive brushless induction motor, maintenance-free.
• Control panel with LCD, electronic display, keypad, and safety features such as buckets with safety caps.
• Speed range of 3000-5000 rpm with a minimum rotor speed of at least 4000 rpm.
• Capacity to hold 72-96 x 5/7 ml tubes, 56 x 15 ml tubes, and 20 x 50 ml tubes.
• Features include acceleration & deceleration control, programmability, pre-selection of speed and time, auto imbalance correction up to 50g, and safety lock on the lid.
• Fast stop option and variable run time.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in supplying and installing laboratory centrifuges, preferably similar models.
• Technical expertise in handling, configuring, and maintaining laboratory centrifuges.
• Ability to provide technical support, training, and after-sales service.
• Compliance with all safety and technical standards specified in the tender.
• Provision of relevant documentation, including technical specifications, compliance certificates, and installation reports.
