Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver adjustable examination lamps (spotlights) that meet specified technical and quality standards. The lamps are intended for use in medical examination settings at Inanda CHC, ensuring adequate illumination for clinical procedures.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement of two units of adjustable examination lamps, including their supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning at Inanda CHC. The tender also covers associated training, documentation, optional accessories, and maintenance support as specified in the detailed technical requirements.

Technical Requirements

• The lamps must be adjustable/examination lights with specific features such as stepless regulation, homogeneous illumination, and compatibility with specified light sources (e.g., Xenon or LED).
• The control panel should include stepless regulation, focus, zoom, XY movement, and auto-centering capabilities.
• The stand must be stable, height at least 1.7 meters, with a carrier arm (minimum 450mm), swivel and lift features, and a "one touch" centering device.
• The light source must provide bright, homogeneous illumination with backup options, UV filters, and cooling measures.
• The binocular tube should have 180° adjustable observation angle, wide-angle eyepieces, tilt mechanisms, and a beamsplitter with lateral outlets.
• The system must include a stereo coaxial attachment, assistive microscope with independent focus, and a comprehensive set of optional accessories.
• All equipment must comply with international safety standards (IEC 60601-1), CE certification, and relevant electrical safety standards.
• The system should be upgradeable, with provisions for future software updates, and include comprehensive manuals and software for troubleshooting and calibration.
• Guarantee period of at least 24 months, with provisions for maintenance, repairs, and spare parts supply for a minimum of 10 years.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying and servicing medical optical equipment, specifically surgical microscopes and examination lamps.
• Technical expertise in installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of ophthalmic and surgical lighting systems.
• Availability of trained technicians within KwaZulu-Natal capable of providing prompt on-site support (within 24 hours).
• Ability to demonstrate compliance with technical specifications through documentation, brochures, and evaluation reports.
• Capacity to provide comprehensive training to end-users and technical staff, including factory-level training and ongoing support.
• Experience in providing warranty, after-sales service, and spare parts logistics for medical equipment over the equipment’s lifecycle.
