Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply a Portable Ultrasound Dental Scaler Unit that meets specified technical and quality standards, ensuring reliable performance for dental procedures. The procurement aims to acquire a unit that is user-friendly, compliant with relevant standards, and supported by adequate training, maintenance, and warranty provisions.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning of one portable ultrasound dental scaler unit to Inanda CHC, KwaZulu-Natal. It includes providing all necessary accessories, optional components, manuals, training, and support services as specified in the technical and contractual requirements. The procurement also covers compliance with legal, safety, and technical standards applicable within South Africa.

Technical Requirements

• The unit must be fully digital with Colour Flow Doppler, capable of 3 active probe connectors with electronic switching.
• It should feature a 19" high-resolution LCD colour monitor with touch controls, and a hard drive with at least 80GB storage capacity.
• The system must support multiple imaging modes, including B-Mode, Doppler, and advanced vascular recognition features.
• Probes must include phased array (2-7.5 MHz), linear vascular (5-10 MHz), and neonatal cardiac (3-9 MHz), with options for equivalents.
• The equipment must be housed on a mobile cart, include a thermal printer, and support DVD and USB image transfer.
• It must comply with safety, radiation, and licensing regulations, including CE approval or Radiation Control licensing where applicable.
• Support optional accessories and software upgrades, with provisions for future enhancements such as 3D imaging and advanced Doppler capabilities.
• Complete manuals (operation, maintenance, fault finding, schematics) must be supplied in English.
• The unit should be supported by trained local service technicians, with proof of manufacturer training and authorized support.

Skills Requirements

• The bidder must demonstrate technical expertise in ultrasound imaging systems, specifically in neonatal, cardiac, and vascular applications.
• Technicians providing support and training must be trained and certified by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
• The bidder must have a well-established service and repair facility in KwaZulu-Natal, with qualified technicians available for maintenance, calibration, and repairs.
• Support staff must be capable of providing comprehensive training to end-users and technical personnel, including calibration, troubleshooting, and repair down to PCB level.
• The bidder should provide documentation of technical qualifications, OEM certifications, and experience in servicing similar ultrasound systems.
