Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver Walled Suction Apparatus to Inanda CHC, KwaZulu-Natal, in accordance with the specified technical and quality standards. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of reliable, compliant, and efficient suction units to support healthcare services within the department.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, installation, commissioning, and training related to the Walled Suction Apparatus. It includes providing optional accessories, spare parts, manuals, and after-sales support, ensuring the equipment meets all specified standards and operational requirements. The tender covers the procurement of 10 units of the specified suction apparatus, with a focus on compliance with technical specifications and contractual obligations.

Technical Requirements

• The suction units must be high vacuum pipeline suction systems with double receptacle canisters capable of accepting disposal liners of 1 litre capacity with inline bacterial filters.
• Canisters must be mounted on snap locks adjustable to the railing, autoclavable, and made from high-impact polycarbonate.
• The units must include a high vacuum regulator with ON/OFF switch, variable controller, and vacuum indicator with dual scales (kPa and mmHg).
• Receptacle canisters must accept disposal liners with congestive shutoff valves and be fitted with a hydrophobic filter to prevent contamination.
• The equipment must operate on 220V, 50Hz AC supply, fitted with a hospital-grade mains plug, and comply with IEC 60601 standards for electrical safety.
• The units must be supplied with manuals, calibration software, spare parts, and optional accessories, with a minimum guarantee/warranty of 24 months.
• The apparatus must meet specified standards for performance, durability, and safety, including compliance with relevant legislation such as the Hazardous Substances Act if applicable.

Skills Requirements

• The bidder must demonstrate technical capability to supply, install, and commission the equipment, including providing on-site demonstration and training to hospital staff and technicians.
• The bidder must have a well-established service and repair facility within KwaZulu-Natal, capable of providing maintenance, calibration, and repairs, with qualified technicians trained by the original equipment manufacturer.
• Provision of comprehensive training to in-house technicians on calibration, maintenance, and repair down to PCB level, with certification of competency upon completion.
• The bidder must supply detailed manuals, software, and spare parts for at least 10 years, ensuring ongoing technical support and system upgrades.
• The bidder should have experience with medical equipment evaluation, including providing samples for assessment and participating in clinical trials if required.
