Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure two non-refrigerated centrifuges for the PE TB Laboratory, a public health laboratory service under the National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS). The goal is to acquire reliable, compliant, and suitable centrifuges that meet specified technical and operational standards to support laboratory diagnostic functions.

Scope

The scope includes the supply, installation, commissioning, and warranty of two benchtop, non-refrigerated centrifuges with specified features such as control panels, programmability, safety features, and compliance with South African standards. The procurement covers all related costs, documentation, and support necessary for operational readiness within the stipulated delivery timeframe of 6 weeks.

Additionally, bidders must provide details of similar contracts, ensure compliance with technical specifications, and adhere to the contractual and logistical requirements outlined in the tender documentation.

Technical Requirements

• Benchtop, non-refrigerated centrifuges with brushless induction drives.
• Control panel: LCD display touchpad.
• Speed: capable of 3000g RCF with programmable pre-selection of speed and time.
• Features: variable acceleration and deceleration, automatic imbalance correction up to 50g, low noise (<70dB), ambient temperature operation (10-35°C).
• Rotor: swing-out type, maximum dimensions 670 x 370 mm, weight up to 130 kg.
• Tube compatibility: Vacutainer 5ml round bottom (13mm x 75mm), up to 40 tubes.
• Safety: buckets with safety covers, lid with safety lock and view window, manual opening, electronic keypad, fast stop option.
• Delivery, installation, and commissioning within 6 weeks.
• Warranty: minimum 1 year.
• Additional features: manual opening during power failure, safety lock, view window, and compliance with South African electrical standards.

Skills Requirements
