Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply curtain material to Umgeni Hospital, ensuring the materials meet specified standards for patient privacy, ward environment, and durability. The procurement aims to ensure timely delivery of quality curtain fabric that complies with South African standards and hospital requirements.

Scope

The scope includes the supply and delivery of curtain fabric suitable for hospital wards, dressing rooms, and dormitories. The fabric must adhere to detailed specifications regarding size, colour, material, and quality standards. The contract covers the procurement process, sample submission, technical compliance, and delivery within specified timeframes.

Technical Requirements

• Fabric must be South African colours, preferably blue & floral, durable, and suitable for washing machines.
• Measurements:
  • Dressing Room: 8 windows, Height 2.5m x Width 170cm
  • Dormitory: 32 windows, Height 1m x Width 205cm
• Variety of colours depending on ward preference.
• Must have binding to accommodate hooks/runners.
• Fabric to be SABS approved.
• Samples must be provided upon request for quality assessment.
• Delivery to be completed within the specified contract period.

Skills Requirements

• Proficiency in understanding technical specifications and standards (SABS).
• Ability to prepare and submit compliant samples and documentation.
• Experience in timely delivery and logistics management.
• Knowledge of hospital procurement procedures and compliance with health sector standards.
• Capacity to provide references demonstrating previous supply of similar goods.
• Understanding of South African procurement policies, including preferential procurement regulations.
