Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, deliver, and install hospital service boards, directional signage, and related signage components at Rietvlei Hospital and associated facilities. The project aims to enhance hospital navigation, safety, and communication through the re-installation and new installation of various service and directional boards, including main gates, wards, clinics, and other hospital departments.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Re-installation of existing service boards and directional signage at Rietvlei Hospital and Gateway Clinic.
• Supply and installation of new chromadek service boards, directional signs, and related signage components at specified locations within the hospital premises.
• Removal and re-installation of existing boards, excavation, concrete work, and mounting on galvanized steel poles.
• Installation of signage for various departments including maternity, pharmacy, outpatient, emergency, laboratory, wards, and other hospital units.
• Provision of safety files, compliance with specifications, and adherence to health and safety standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Supply of chromadek sheets (0.35mm thickness) in specified sizes and colors, conforming to SABS standards.
• Installation of signage on galvanized steel poles and existing structures, including excavation and concrete work.
• Design and fabrication of signage with specified dimensions, colors, and fonts, including the use of the hospital’s logos and branding guidelines.
• Provision of signage with specific font sizes (e.g., 50mm for main text, 30mm for supporting text), background and font colors as per design specifications.
• Installation of directional signs with arrow symbols, distance indicators, and hospital branding.
• Compliance with occupational health and safety regulations during installation.
• Provision of safety files and documentation as required.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must possess:

• Proven experience in signage design, fabrication, and installation within healthcare or similar environments.
• Technical expertise in working with chromadek sheets, galvanized steel structures, and signage mounting techniques.
• Capability to perform excavation, concrete work, and installation on existing hospital infrastructure.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards applicable to construction and signage installation in public health facilities.
• Ability to produce signage that meets SABS standards and hospital branding requirements.
• Qualified personnel including artisans, technicians, and project managers with relevant experience.
• Capacity to prepare and submit safety files, compliance documentation, and project reports.
