Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure surgical clogs that meet specified safety and quality standards for use by clinicians at Gamalakhe CHC, KwaZulu-Natal. The procurement aims to ensure protective footwear that is non-slip, washable, autoclavable at 134°C, and complies with health and safety standards to prevent contact with infectious agents such as Ebola Virus.

Scope

The scope includes the supply and delivery of surgical clogs in various sizes (sizes 5 to 14), with an initial quantity of 20 pairs per size, to Gamalakhe CHC. The procurement covers the entire process from quotation collection, submission, evaluation, to final delivery at the specified institution address. The contract is a once-off purchase, with a validity period of 90 days for the quotation.

Technical Requirements

• The surgical clogs must be made of thermoplastic elastomer, fully autoclavable at 134°C, washable, and non-slip.
• Clogs must be fully autoclavable, washable, and comply with the specified quality standards.
• Sizes required: 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 14, with 20 pairs per size, except size 14 which requires 2 pairs.
• Samples will be requested from qualifying bidders for quality verification.
• Clogs should be supplied in units, with packaging conforming to health and safety standards.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Bidder must demonstrate the ability to supply medical-grade footwear that meets the specified technical standards.
• Bidder should have experience in supplying medical or protective footwear to health facilities or similar institutions.
• Bidder must provide samples for quality assessment and demonstrate compliance with specifications.
• Bidder must be registered on the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) and hold valid licensing/authorization from relevant health authorities (e.g., SAHPRA).
• Bidder should have the capacity to deliver within the specified timeframe and adhere to health and safety standards.
