Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply surgical items to Mseleni Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The aim is to ensure the availability of essential surgical equipment and consumables that meet specified standards, conform to relevant regulations, and support effective healthcare delivery within the institution.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of various surgical items, including but not limited to:

• Surgical consumables (e.g., masks, gloves, body bags)
• Medical equipment (e.g., diathermy blades, HB meters, GESTATIONAL WHEELS)
• Disposable items (e.g., shoe covers, respiratory masks, IV cannulas)
• Specialized surgical instruments (e.g., dissecting blades, central wheels)

The procurement covers a total quantity of approximately 2,474 items, with delivery to Mseleni Hospital. The contract is once-off, with a validity period of 90 days from the date of advertisement.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for each item are detailed in the annexed specification forms, which include:

• Compliance with SAHPRA (South African Health Products Regulatory Authority) standards
• Items must meet the detailed specifications such as size, material, and packaging (e.g., boxes of 50, 100, or 35 units)
• Items must be new, unused, and of the most recent models or standards
• All products must be properly packaged to prevent damage during transit and storage
• Items must conform to the relevant South African standards and regulations

Additional requirements include submission of samples (if specified), adherence to delivery timelines, and compliance with the specified quality standards.
