Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a Technetium 99m Generator for Addington Hospital, ensuring the supply of quality medical radioisotopes in compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The procurement aims to support effective diagnostic imaging services within the hospital, promote local enterprise participation, and adhere to government procurement policies.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes the supply of 18 boxes of Technetium 99m Generators, specifically UTK 17.2GBq models, to Addington Hospital located at 16 Erskine Terrace, South Beach Durban. The contract period is valid for 90 days from the date of award, with delivery to be made in accordance with the specifications and requirements outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of Technetium 99m Generators (UTK 17.2GBq), quantity: 18 boxes.
• Generators must conform to the specifications detailed in the tender documentation and relevant standards (e.g., S.A.N.S./S.A.B.S.).
• Suppliers must provide valid licensing and certification from the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) for manufacturing, wholesale, or distribution of medical devices.
• All products must be valid for a minimum of six months upon delivery.
• Suppliers must submit samples for evaluation and approval prior to full procurement.
• Adherence to the Department of Health’s procurement policies, including preference points for South African owned enterprises.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying medical radioisotopes and related equipment.
• Ability to demonstrate compliance with SAHPRA licensing requirements.
• Capability to provide technical support, documentation, and training related to the use and handling of Technetium 99m Generators.
• Capacity to meet delivery timelines and ensure quality assurance through proper inspection, testing, and certification processes.
• Knowledge of government procurement policies, including preferential procurement and BBBEE compliance.
• Ability to provide necessary documentation such as CSD reports, BBBEE certificates, and licensing certificates.
