Objectives

The Mogalakwena Local Municipality seeks to engage a qualified service provider for the construction of a new electrical substation facility. Scope

Project: Construction of a New 33KV/11KV Substation Chamber.

The scope encompasses the civil and structural works required to build a substation chamber designed to house high-voltage electrical equipment transitioning between 33 kilovolts and 11 kilovolts levels. The successful tenderer will be responsible for delivering the completed infrastructure within the agreed timeframe. The municipality reserves the right to negotiate further conditions with the awarded party and may accept partial tenders or award multiple contracts if deemed beneficial to the organization.

Technical Requirements

• CIDB Grading: Contractors must hold a minimum Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) grading of Grade 8.
• CSD Registration: Bidders must be registered on the Web-Based Central Supplier Database (CSD); failure to register disqualifies the bid.
• Tender Validity: Submitted tenders must remain valid for 90 days following the closing date.
• Submission Format: Tenders must be complete, fully priced, signed, and sealed in a clearly marked envelope bearing the project name and reference number. Only physical submissions via the designated tender box are accepted; late, faxed, telegraphic, emailed, or telephonic bids are rejected.
• Compulsory Briefing: Attendance at the official compulsory briefing session is mandatory for participation.

Skills Requirements

• Construction Capability: Providers must demonstrate the technical capacity and experience to execute Grade 8 construction projects, specifically involving electrical infrastructure and substation chambers.
