Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to establish a panel of suitably experienced suppliers for the supply and delivery of various construction materials within the Msunduzi Municipality. These materials include concrete sand, sand filler, cold mix, ready mix concrete, quarry products, and hot mix asphalt, aimed at supporting municipal infrastructure and development projects.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of the following materials within the Msunduzi Municipality:

• Concrete Sand (Section 1)
• Sand Filler (Section 2)
• Cold Mix (Section 3)
• Ready Mix Concrete (Section 4)
• Quarry Product (Section 5)
• Hot Mix Asphalt (Section 6)

Tenders are restricted to a maximum of two sections per tenderer, with only the first two sections tendered considered for evaluation.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements involve demonstrating adequate resources and experience for each section, evaluated through a functionality scoring system:

• Section 1 & 2 (Sand & Sand Filler): Resources such as excavators, TLBs, and tipper trucks, with a minimum threshold of 60% (30 points out of 50).
• Section 3 (Cold Mix): Experience in supply and delivery, with resources including dropside trucks and bakkies, minimum threshold of 60%.
• Section 4 (Ready Mix Concrete): Experience and resources like concrete mixer trucks, minimum threshold of 60%.
• Section 5 (Quarry Product): Experience and resources including excavators, crushing plants, and TLBs, with a minimum threshold of 80% (80 points out of 100).
• Section 6 (Hot Mix Asphalt): Experience and resources such as tipper trucks, dropside trucks, and bakkies, with a minimum threshold of 60%.

Functionality scores are used to assess the technical capability of tenderers for each section.

Skills and Experience Requirements

• Proven experience in the supply and delivery of construction materials relevant to each section.
• Availability of specified resources (e.g., excavators, trucks, crushing plants) to meet delivery requirements.
• Demonstrated capacity to undertake the scope of work efficiently and reliably.

Evaluation of skills and experience will be based on submitted evidence and resource availability, with minimum thresholds set for each section to qualify for further consideration.
