Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to establish a three-year contract for the servicing of laundry machines on a monthly basis at Greys Hospital. The contract aims to ensure preventive maintenance to minimize breakdowns, maintain operational efficiency, and prolong the lifespan of the laundry equipment.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Servicing of laundry machines, including industrial washers, tumble dryers, and roller irons, as specified in the detailed technical specifications.
• Inspection and testing of safety circuits, heating elements, motors, belts, drives, and other critical components.
• Running complete test cycles post-service to ensure proper functioning.
• Preparation of detailed service reports after each maintenance visit.
• Provision of repair quotations if defects are identified during servicing.
• Adherence to safety and quality standards as specified in the technical specifications and standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with CIDB grading of ME/EB or above.
• Inspection and servicing of specific laundry equipment including:
• Industrial washers (soft and hard mount)
• Industrial tumble dryers (Speed Queen)
• Roller irons (Girbau, IPSO, SQ)
• Checking and inspecting safety circuits, heating elements, motor mountings, belts, drives, and other critical parts.
• Running full test cycles (high, medium, low) on each machine after servicing.
• Submitting detailed service reports and repair quotations where necessary.
• Ensuring all work complies with relevant South African standards and safety regulations.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• Qualified technicians with relevant trade test certificates, specifically electricians with CIDB ME/EB registration or above.
• Proof of authorization from original equipment manufacturers to work on the specified laundry machinery.
• Experience in servicing industrial laundry equipment, including inspection, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Knowledge of safety standards and compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.
• Ability to produce detailed service reports and repair quotations promptly.
• Demonstrated capacity to perform scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency repairs efficiently.
