Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit quotations for the tiling of the Admin Building passage and steps at Rietvlei Hospital, including related painting works, to improve the facility's infrastructure while ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Tiling of passages, stairs, and entrance areas within the Admin Building, including ground and first floors.
• Painting of interior walls, door frames, doors, and entrance walls.
• Removal and re-installation of steel gates for tiling purposes.
• Execution of electrical and masonry work as necessary for the completion of the project.
• Work to be carried out on-site at Rietvlei Hospital, with minimal disturbance to hospital activities.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Use of high-standard materials such as full-bodied porcelain tiles (300x300x8.3mm) in a uniform light salt and pepper color range.
• Application of wall paint using matt acrylic PVA with a 10-year warranty.
• Painting of steel door frames with acrylic enamel or oil-based interior satin/semi-gloss paint, and doors with dark brown wood varnish.
• Installation of anti-slip rubber stair nosing (40mm x 40mm x 1.2mm).
• Adherence to relevant South African standards, electrical safety regulations, and health and safety protocols.
• Completion within a period of one week from site handover, with a minimum guarantee period of six months for all materials and workmanship.

Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• CIDB grading of 1GB or above.
• Proven experience in tiling and painting projects within healthcare or similar environments.
• Qualified personnel including painters, carpenters, plumbers, and electrical workers with relevant trade certificates.
• Financial capacity to undertake the project, evidenced by proof of available capital or credit facilities.
• Past experience with similar projects, supported by references or completion certificates.
• Compliance with health and safety standards and ability to execute work with minimal disruption to hospital services.
