Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure Protease Peptone No.2 to meet the needs of Onderstepoort Biological Products Ltd. Scope

The scope of the tender includes the supply of 40 kg of Protease Peptone No.2, packaged in 10 kg airtight plastic buckets. The supplier must provide products that meet detailed specifications, including appearance, solubility, pH, nitrogen content, ash content, loss on drying, growth media compatibility, expiry date, and required documentation such as certificates of analysis and safety data sheets. The procurement process also encompasses supplier qualification, documentation submission, and adherence to government procurement policies.

Technical Requirements

• Product Appearance: Tan, free-flowing powder or granules.
• Solubility: Must be soluble in distilled or deionized water upon slight heating.
• pH (1-2% solution @ 25°C): 7.2 – 7.6.
• Total Nitrogen (Kjeldahl method): 10.0 – 50%.
• Amino Nitrogen (Modified Sorensen method): 3.1 – 39.7.
• Ash Content: 8.0 – 16.0.
• Loss on Drying: Approximately 5.0%.
• Growth Media Test, Packed Cell Volume: 0.8%.
• Expiry/Retest Date: Minimum of 1 year from date of supply.
• Packaging: 10 kg airtight plastic buckets.
• Documentation: Batch-specific certificate of analysis, TSE-free certificate, and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
