Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure raw materials required for production at Onderstepoort Biological Products Ltd. The procurement aims to ensure the supply of specific microbiological media and related products to support the company's manufacturing processes.

Scope

The scope includes the supply of various microbiological media and chemicals, both dehydrated and prepared forms, with detailed specifications for each item. The quantities required are specified, such as 2500 grams of Trichomonas medium, 1500 grams of Cooked meat medium, and other media like Agar MacConkey, Blood Agar Base, Agar Bacteriological, and Bromocresol Blue. The scope also encompasses administrative and compliance requirements related to supply and procurement processes.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of microbiological media with specific appearance, composition, and pH levels:
  • Trichomonas medium: dehydrated and prepared forms, appearance, liver digest, glucose, sodium chloride, agar, pH 6.4 ± 0.2
  • Cooked meat medium: dehydrated and prepared forms, appearance, liver digest, peptone, lab lemco powder, sodium chloride, glucose, pH 7.2 ± 0.2
  • Agar MacConkey: dehydrated and prepared forms, appearance, peptone, lactose, bile salts, sodium chloride, neutral red, agar, pH 7.4 ± 0.2
  • Blood Agar Base: dehydrated medium, appearance, liver digest, proteose peptone, yeast extract, sodium chloride, agar, pH 7.4 ± 0.2
  • Agar Bacteriological: off-white to straw powder, clarity, loss on drying, ash, calcium, magnesium content
  • Bromocresol Blue: chemical requirements including molecular formula and molar mass
• Suppliers must provide Certificates of Analysis (COA) from the original manufacturer and proof of supply of similar products within the last three years.
• Compliance with procurement and administrative procedures, including registration on the procurement portal and submission of all required documentation.

Skills Requirements

• Ability to supply microbiological media and chemicals that meet detailed technical specifications.
• Experience in providing similar products, supported by reference letters or delivery notes.
• Understanding of procurement procedures, including compliance with government regulations and submission of necessary documents such as COA and BBBEE certificates.
• Capacity to adhere to quality standards and provide proof of supply history.
• Administrative skills to navigate the procurement portal and submit comprehensive bids with all required documentation.
