Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure training services for Health & Safety Representatives. The training aims to empower participants to perform health and safety representation activities effectively, understand relevant legislation, and fulfill their roles within the workplace safety framework.

Scope

The scope includes delivering a two-day training course for 20 participants in eThekwini District, covering topics such as occupational health and safety legislation, roles and responsibilities of health and safety representatives, hazard identification, incident reporting, and safety procedures. The training must be conducted in a classroom setting with practical activities, and include post-training support.

Technical Requirements

• Training must be in contact class format, combining theory and practical activities.
• Participants should receive pre-course materials and learner guides.
• Training facilitator must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA.
• Service provider must be accredited as a training provider with the relevant ETQA.
• Facilitator must have at least two years’ experience in facilitating health and safety training and provide CVs and references.
• Training content must include topics such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act, hazard management, PPE, incident reporting, COVID-19 regulations, and fire safety.
• Provide a project plan, sample training material, and a close-out report.
• Training duration: 2 days; Number of participants: 20.
• Post-training support via advice and telephonic consultation.

Skills Requirements

• Facilitator must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA.
• Service provider must be accredited as a training provider with the relevant ETQA.
• Facilitator must have at least 2 years’ experience in facilitating health and safety training, with supporting CVs and references.
• Proven ability to deliver engaging classroom training with practical activities.
• Ability to develop and provide training materials aligned with the course requirements.
• Capacity to provide post-training support and reports.
