Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure training services for Snake Awareness. The training aims to educate participants on snake and scorpion awareness, biology, behavior, myths, identification, and basic first aid for snakebite, scorpion sting, and spider bite. The course also covers medical treatment procedures related to snakebite.

Scope

The scope includes the provision of a comprehensive Snake Awareness training course for a specified number of participants. The training should include content on:

• Scorpion awareness
• Snake awareness
• Biology and behavior of snakes and scorpions
• Myths and misconceptions
• Identification of species
• Basic first aid for snakebite, scorpion sting, and spider bite
• Medical treatment procedures for snakebite

The service provider must deliver the training on-site, provide laminated certificates of attendance, include learning materials, and ensure the training is valid until 30 June 2026.

Technical Requirements

• The course content must be set targets with clear objectives
• Training must be conducted by facilitators registered at Cape Nature (permit as proof)
• Facilitators must have a snake handling training certificate and 3-4 years relevant experience (CV to be provided)
• Pricing must be per person and include VAT
• Travel and accommodation costs for facilitators must be included, VAT inclusive/exclusive as specified
• Certificates of attendance must be printed, laminated, and provided after training
• Training materials must be included in the price
• Prices must be valid until 30 June 2026

Skills Requirements

• Facilitators must have relevant snake handling and training certification
• Facilitators must possess at least 3-4 years of relevant experience in snake awareness training
• Service providers must demonstrate experience through recent references (last 4 years)
• Ability to deliver engaging and informative training sessions
• Provision of laminated certificates and training materials
• Compliance with Cape Nature registration and permit requirements
