Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure 120 units of Trocar Bladeless with Fixation Cannula 10mm for use in laparoscopic surgical procedures at Port Shepstone Hospital. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of high-quality, certified medical devices that meet specified standards for safe and effective surgical access.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of the specified trocar and cannula set to Port Shepstone Hospital’s Supply Chain Management Department. The procurement covers the entire process from quotation submission, technical compliance, to delivery at the designated hospital location, adhering to the detailed specifications and quality standards outlined in the tender documentation.

Technical Requirements

• A 10mm optical bladeless trocar with cannula designed for laparoscopic surgery, featuring:
  • Diameter: 10mm – 11mm
  • Working Length: 100mm – 110mm
  • Optical transparent tip for 360° visualization
  • Bladeless tip that separates tissue to reduce trauma
  • Cannula made of high-grade, disposable, clear polymer with ribbed/threaded structure
  • Universal seal and dual valve system to prevent CO2 leakage
  • Insufflation port with Luer-Lock connector
  • Sterile, single-use packaging including the trocar and cannula set
  • Container with batch, manufacturing, expiry details, and manufacturer contact information

Standards compliance with SABS/SANS certification or equivalent is mandatory.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Proven technical capability to supply certified medical devices meeting specified standards
• Experience in supplying surgical instruments to healthcare facilities, preferably within the public health sector
• Ability to provide valid certification documentation and product datasheets for evaluation
• Capacity to deliver the specified quantity within the stipulated contract period
• Compliance with procurement policies, including preference points system and regulatory requirements such as SAHPRA licensing
• Ability to adhere to quality assurance and certification standards, including providing proof of SABS/SANS certification
