Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure uniforms and shoes, including safety shoes, for staff at Osindweni Hospital under the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health. The aim is to ensure staff are equipped with appropriate, standardized personal protective equipment that meets specified standards and specifications.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply of various staff uniforms (such as navy trousers, golf T-shirts, jackets, windbreakers, and laundry uniforms) and safety footwear (including safety shoes and police parabellum shoes). The procurement covers different sizes, colors, and specifications as detailed in the technical annexures, with delivery to Osindisweni Hospital and Osindisweni District Hospital. The contract period and delivery timelines are to be adhered to as specified in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with detailed specifications provided in annexures, including fabric type, color, design features (e.g., zip front, pockets, belt loops), and size options (e.g., sizes 28, 30, 32, 34).
• Uniforms must meet specified quality standards, including durability, proper fit, and adherence to safety standards where applicable.
• Shoes must conform to safety standards, with features such as reinforced toes, anti-slip soles, and appropriate sizing.
• All items must be compliant with SABS or SANS approved standards where specified.
• Samples may be required for inspection and testing prior to award.
• Items must be delivered within the stipulated delivery period, with proper packing to prevent damage during transit.

Skills and Capabilities Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Administrative capacity to comply with mandatory documentation and submission requirements.
• Capacity to deliver the specified quantities within the agreed timelines.
• Ability to provide quality products that meet technical specifications and standards.
• Provision of samples for evaluation if required.
• Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including registration on the Central Suppliers Database (CSD), and valid tax clearance.
• Experience in supplying uniforms and safety shoes to large institutions or government departments.
• Ability to provide proof of compliance with SABS or SANS standards and relevant quality standards.
