Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure various plumbing repairs and supplies to ensure the proper maintenance and functionality of facilities at Cato Manor CHC under the Department of Health in KwaZulu-Natal. The initiative aims to promote South African owned enterprises by allocating full points to local businesses, thereby supporting local economic development.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Provision of plumbing repairs and supplies, including tap cartridges, washers, drain blocks, and replacement of sinks and toilets.
• Carrying out specific plumbing works such as unblocking sewer lines, repairing leaking pipes, and replacing broken fixtures.
• Attending a compulsory site visit and adhering to specified work timelines, with all work to be completed within two weeks of official order.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including the use of PPE and adherence to CIDB registration requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Supply of plumbing components as specified (e.g., tap cartridges, washers, drain bottles).
• Execution of plumbing repairs such as unblocking sewer lines, replacing broken sinks, and repairing leaking pipes.
• Attending site meetings and complying with health and safety standards.
• Providing all necessary PPEs and ensuring work is performed to the required standards.
• Completion of work within the stipulated timeframe, with proper documentation including a completion certificate and workmanship guarantee.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for bidders include:

• CIDB registration in the relevant category (SO).
• Ability to perform plumbing repairs and installations according to technical specifications.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to plumbing works.
• Competence in site inspection, problem diagnosis, and executing repairs efficiently.
• Capability to provide all necessary PPE and adhere to safety protocols.
