Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit quotations for various repair works at St Chads Community Health Centre (CHC). The aim is to ensure the completion of specified repairs, maintenance, and improvements to the facility in accordance with technical specifications and standards, thereby enhancing the operational functionality and safety of the health centre.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Replacement of carpets with floor tiles in designated areas.
• Replacement of vinyl sheeting with floor tiles in OPD file room, HR archive room, and laundry areas.
• Replacement and installation of wall heaters (3kW units).
• Installation of heavy-duty solid core doors, frames, locks, and non-opening windows at specified locations.
• Replacement of mandatory signage and parking signs.
• Supply and mounting of medical records drop boxes.
• Repair of epoxy floors and surface preparation for epoxy application.
• Installation of copper pipes and taps, replacement of broken toilet sets and urinals.
• Repair and painting of speed humps, ceilings, and other structural elements.
• Replacement of expander gates, taps, and signage.
• General repairs to ensure the facility's safety, hygiene, and operational standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that all work must:

• Conform to relevant standards such as the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Be carried out on-site at the existing facility, with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
• Include supply of all materials, equipment, and labor necessary for completion.
• Meet the specifications detailed in the project documentation, including the replacement of specified items and installation of new fixtures.
• Be completed within the stipulated contract period of 2 weeks from site handover.
• Be accompanied by required certifications such as CIDB grading (1GB or above), completion certificates for similar work, and warranties for materials and workmanship.
• Adhere to safety and site briefing requirements, including compulsory site visits and briefing sessions.

Skills Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:

• Relevant CIDB grading of 1GB or above.
• Experience in building repairs, maintenance, and installation works, particularly in healthcare or similar institutional environments.
• Competence in executing repairs according to South African standards and safety regulations.
• Ability to supply and install building fixtures, electrical and plumbing components, and signage.
• Capability to complete work within tight timelines, ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained.
• Provision of valid certificates of previous similar work, including completion certificates and warranties.
