Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure waste management and cleaning services, specifically the supply, placement, removal, and disposal of skips at various specified locations in Cape Town, including Hout Bay Harbour, Acacia Park, Fernwood Estate, Custom House, and several SAPS sites. The aim is to ensure effective waste collection and disposal at these sites in compliance with environmental and municipal regulations.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Provision of skips of various sizes at designated sites.
• Regular collection and removal of waste from these sites.
• Disposal of waste in accordance with environmental standards.
• Services to be rendered over a contract period of four months, with a total of 136 scheduled services.
• Additional services include rescheduling, compliance with municipal bylaws, and adherence to environmental waste management acts.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Supply of skips of specified sizes (e.g., 3m³, 6m³, 12m³, 30m³) as per site requirements.
• Regular collection and disposal of waste, with specified frequency (e.g., weekly, monthly).
• Compliance with environmental legislation and municipal bylaws.
• Provision of proof of registration on the National Treasury’s Central Supplier Database (CSD).
• Adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards during service delivery.
• Provision of proof of insurance and quality standards (e.g., SABS approval if applicable).
• Timely delivery and collection of skips as per schedule.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from bidders include:

• Demonstrated experience in waste management and skip services.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation and municipal bylaws related to waste disposal.
• Ability to supply and manage various sizes of skips and coordinate logistics effectively.
• Capacity to provide proof of registration, BBBEE status, and compliance documentation.
• Qualified personnel with knowledge of health and safety standards relevant to waste management services.
• Effective communication and reporting skills for coordination with the department and end-users.
