Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure water-soluble ultrasound gel in 250ml transmission water-soluble containers for use at Greys Hospital, KwaZulu-Natal, under the Department of Health. Scope

The scope includes the supply of 600 units of ultrasound gel (250ml each) that meet the detailed specifications provided in the tender documents. The procurement covers the entire process from submission of quotations, compliance with technical and administrative requirements, to delivery at the specified hospital address within the contract period. The tender also encompasses sample submission, adherence to preference points, and compliance with legal and contractual obligations.

Technical Requirements

• Product Description: Ultrasound gel, 250ml, transmission water-soluble.
• Compliance with attached specification document, including size, color, material, and quality standards.
• Samples must be provided upon request, with details specified in the tender.
• The product must conform to SANAS/SABS specifications and be suitable for clinical ultrasound procedures.
• Packaging: Units must be properly packed to prevent damage during transit.
• Delivery: Goods shall be delivered in accordance with the specified delivery period, to the designated hospital address, with all required documentation.
• Product must be valid for a minimum of six months from the date of delivery.
• Suppliers must provide a warranty of 12 months for defect-free products.

Skills and Competencies Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying medical or clinical water-soluble gels or similar pharmaceutical/medical products.
• Knowledge of relevant South African standards (SANAS/SABS) for medical products.
• Ability to provide samples and technical documentation demonstrating product compliance.
• Capacity to deliver the specified quantity within the stipulated timeframe.
• Compliance with legal, tax, and procurement regulations, including registration on the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) and tax clearance.
• Experience in handling government tenders and understanding of procurement policies, including preferential procurement regulations.
• Qualified personnel to manage technical queries and ensure quality assurance throughout the supply process.
