Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure water testing and treatment services for water towers, HVAC plants, and autoclave softeners at Victoria Mxenge Hospital. The aim is to ensure safe drinking water, proper maintenance of water systems, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of water testing and treatment services for water towers, HVAC chilled water systems, and autoclave softeners.
• Regular sampling, testing, and chemical treatment to maintain water quality within specified standards (e.g., SANS 241-1).
• Maintenance of water systems, including autoclave softeners and storage tanks (both underground and overhead).
• Monitoring and reporting on water quality, including bacteriological and chemical indicators.
• Site visits, inspections, and compliance with safety and health regulations.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Water testing for bacteriological indicators as per SANS 241-1, with bi-weekly testing for tanks and weekly follow-up if non-compliance occurs.
• Chemical treatment to maintain water quality within specified limits.
• Regular inspection and maintenance of water treatment systems, including autoclave softeners and storage tanks.
• Provision of test strips, chemicals, and necessary equipment for testing and treatment.
• Documentation of water quality results, maintenance activities, and compliance reports.
• Adherence to safety standards, site briefing, and compulsory attendance at site meetings.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must possess:

• Qualified personnel with expertise in water treatment, microbiology, and system maintenance.
• Relevant certifications and licenses for water testing and chemical handling.
• Experience in managing water systems in healthcare or similar environments.
• Knowledge of applicable standards (e.g., SANS 241-1) and health and safety regulations.
• Ability to provide detailed reports, documentation, and compliance certificates.
