Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to carry out repairs and installation of existing doors at the Animal Production Campus in Irene. This includes refurbishing laboratory and emergency doors to enhance workplace safety and ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Refitting five doors with new wood panels, re-staining, and external steel cladding.
• Refitting thirty-five doors with new wood panels and re-staining.
• Removing forty existing doors and re-installing forty refurbished wooden doors.

Door schedules and specific locations will be provided during a compulsory briefing session.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Refurbishment of doors with new wood panels, re-staining, and steel cladding where specified.
• Removal and re-installation of doors ensuring proper fit and finish.
• Use of quality materials compliant with safety and durability standards.
• Provision of all necessary documentation, including reference letters, completion certificates, and proof of experience in carpentry, repairs, and refurbishment work.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Technical capability and relevant experience in repairs and refurbishment of doors and carpentry work.
• Provision of reference letters and/or completion certificates indicating successful completion of similar projects, including contact details, contract values, and durations.
• Company profile showcasing expertise in repairs and general maintenance.
• Compliance with all administrative and legal requirements such as valid tax compliance status, UIF registration, COIDA certificate, CIPC registration, and CIDB registration (GB1).
