Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a panel of up to five (05) service providers to supply tools, pipes, and fittings necessary for the repair and replacement of burst pipes within Maluti-a-Phofung Municipality. The appointed service providers will be responsible for ensuring timely and effective repairs over a period of two (02) years.

Scope

The scope of the tender encompasses the provision of:

• Tools required for pipe repair and replacement
• Pipes and fittings, including various sizes and types such as uPVC pipes, adaptors, couplings, valves, nipples, and saddles
• Specialized equipment like water meters, gate valves, galvanized nipples, repair couplings, and VJ repair couplings
• Additional tools and accessories including hacksaw blades, pipe wrenches, pipe dice, water pumps, angle grinders, jackhammers, and barricading signs

The services include repairing and replacing burst pipes across different locations within the municipality, adhering to the specifications and material requirements outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

Suppliers must meet the following technical requirements:

• Provide a comprehensive material list with specified quantities, unit prices, and total costs
• Supply a variety of pipe sizes and fittings, including uPVC pipes (ranging from 15mm to 720mm), adaptors, couplings, valves, and nipples
• Ensure all materials comply with relevant standards (e.g., uPVC pipes Class 16)
• Supply tools such as pipe wrenches, hacksaws, angle grinders, water meters, and safety equipment
• Provide barricading signs and safety cones for site safety during repairs
• Ensure all materials and tools are of good quality, suitable for municipal water infrastructure repairs

Skills Requirements

While the tender primarily focuses on supply, bidders should demonstrate:

• Experience in supplying plumbing materials and tools for municipal or similar infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of water pipe repair and replacement procedures
• Ability to provide quality assurance and compliance with technical specifications
• Capacity to deliver materials and tools within specified timeframes
• Compliance with municipal procurement policies and relevant safety standards
