Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to establish a panel of qualified service providers capable of supplying waste trucks on an "as required" basis to the JB Marks Local Municipality, covering the Potchefstroom and Ventersdorp regions. The aim is to ensure efficient waste removal services over a period of three years, supporting the municipality's waste management and environmental sustainability goals.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Provision of various waste collection trucks, including:
• 12m³ rear end refuse compactors for general waste collection from residential and commercial areas.
• 9-ton skip loader trucks for waste in skips at various sites.
• 10m³ Tipper trucks for illegal dump hotspots.
• Front-end loaders/Backhoe Loaders (TLB) for loading illegal dumped waste.
• Operational services such as collection, transportation, and disposal of waste at designated landfill sites.
• Provision of additional trucks during breakdowns or increased demand.
• Adherence to environmental and legislative standards for waste management.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the trucks and services include:

• Provision of trucks with specified capacities and sizes, including:
• 12m³ rear end compactors
• 9-ton skip loader trucks
• 10m³ Tipper trucks
• Front-end loaders/Backhoe Loaders (minimum 82 KW/110 HP)
• Ownership or lease of the trucks, supported by valid registration and licensing documents (e-Natis certificates).
• Qualified and experienced drivers with valid licenses and PDP, with proof of experience (minimum 2 years).
• Provision of plant and equipment, including ownership or lease documentation.
• Insurance coverage of R5,000,000 or above.
• Compliance with environmental, safety, and municipal regulations.
• Availability of plant and equipment, with proof of ownership or lease agreements.
• Ability to provide references demonstrating previous experience in similar municipal waste services.

Skills and Capacity Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in providing waste management services to municipal or public sector clients.
• Capacity to supply and operate multiple trucks simultaneously, including during breakdowns or peak periods.
• Qualified personnel, including drivers and safety officers, with relevant certifications and experience.
• Technical capacity to maintain and repair equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Financial stability, evidenced by a bank guarantee of R2,000,000 or above.
• Compliance with all legal, environmental, and safety standards.
• Ability to supply at least five contactable references for similar projects.
