Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified professional service provider to deliver comprehensive snake awareness, identification, and handling training for employees across various TCTA sites. The training aims to enhance employee competence in snake recognition, safe handling, emergency response, and hazard mitigation related to occupational snake encounters. Additionally, the provider will supply training materials, issue certificates of competence or attendance, and offer advisory support on snake-related occupational hazards for a period of twenty-four (24) months.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of snake awareness and identification training, including training materials and certificates.
• Practical snake handling training conducted either online or in person.
• Training on snakebite first aid, safe snake capture and removal, and site-specific snake hazard induction.
• Accredited trainers recognized by registered bodies.
• Delivery across multiple TCTA sites with scheduled dates post-appointment.
• Minimum of six attendees per training session, with a total of 20 participants per component.
• Advisory support on occupational snake hazards throughout the contract period.

Technical Requirements

The service provider must meet the following technical criteria:

• Accredited trainers recognized by relevant wildlife, environmental, or first-aid regulatory bodies.
• Experience in delivering at least three (3) projects related to snake awareness and handling training, supported by reference letters or Annexure A submissions.
• Trainers must hold recognized certifications in snake handling, venomous snake management, snakebite first aid, and species identification.
• Demonstrate competence in species identification, safe capture and relocation, and emergency response to snakebite incidents.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working with wild snakes, supported by detailed CVs.
• Provision of proof of relevant training accreditation.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder’s personnel must possess:

• Recognized certification or accreditation in snake handling and snake awareness.
• Proven competence in species identification, safe capture, and emergency response procedures.
• Experience advising on safe operating procedures and emergency protocols related to snake incidents.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working with wild snakes, demonstrated through detailed CVs.
• Relevant training accreditation in snake handling and awareness.
