Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a credible recycling service provider to securely dispose of and recycle MICT SETA's redundant ICT assets in an environmentally friendly manner. The service provider must ensure compliance with legal requirements related to environmental protection and data security, facilitating the proper disposal of ICT equipment listed in the tender documentation.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Secure collection and disposal of specified ICT assets from MICT SETA premises.
• Provision of destruction certificates within five (5) working days after collection.
• Removal of assets from the asset register upon collection.
• Disposal of a comprehensive list of ICT assets including laptops, monitors, servers, printers, tablets, CPUs, and other electronic equipment as detailed in annexure “A”.
• Compliance with environmental standards and regulations during disposal.

Technical Requirements

The service provider must:

• Conduct secure collection and environmentally compliant disposal of ICT assets.
• Issue destruction certificates within five (5) working days post collection.
• Ensure all assets are removed from the asset register upon collection.
• Provide proof of payment within three (3) days of receipt.
• Complete disposal within five (5) days of acceptance of the service.
• Meet accreditation requirements, including membership with the e-Waste Association of South Africa (eWASA) or the Institute of Waste Management of Southern Africa (IWMSA).

Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• At least two (2) years of experience in recycling ICT equipment.
• Provision of two (2) signed reference letters from previous clients within the past ten (10) years, confirming experience in ICT recycling.
• Accreditation or membership with recognized waste management or e-waste organizations (eWASA or IWMSA).
• Understanding of environmental and data security laws applicable to ICT disposal.
