Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider responsible for the maintenance and servicing of the Hydrovar pump system within the Council for Medical Schemes' water infrastructure. The aim is to ensure the reliable operation of the pump over a period of four years through regular maintenance, repairs, and ad-hoc services.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of annual maintenance services for the Hydrovar pump system, including repairs and replacement of parts as needed.
• Ad-hoc and urgent repairs to address unforeseen issues.
• Provision of detailed pricing breakdowns for each year of the contract, covering maintenance, repairs, after-hours services, weekend/public holiday services, and materials/parts replacement.
• Adherence to specified technical specifications for the pump system and related water infrastructure.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Experience in maintenance and repair of water pumps or water tanks, evidenced by official client letters on letterhead, signed and verifiable.
• Mechanical Engineering qualification: Class, Grade 1 or higher.
• Adherence to the Supply Chain Management policy of the bidder.
• Compliance with all specified technical criteria, including the ability to perform repairs, replacements, and ad-hoc services as per the specifications.
• Provision of detailed cost breakdowns for each year, including hourly rates for maintenance, repairs, after-hours, weekends, and public holidays, as well as costs per kilometre for service delivery.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from the service provider include:

• Mechanical Engineering qualification: Grade 1 or higher.
• Proven experience in maintenance and repair of water pumps or water systems, supported by official documentation.
• Knowledge of water system components and repair techniques.
• Ability to provide timely ad-hoc and emergency repair services.
• Capacity to prepare detailed and accurate pricing proposals annually.
• Adherence to procurement and compliance regulations, including tax compliance and BBBEE requirements.
