Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider for the once-off supply and delivery of one hundred (100) firearms, including various types and calibers, to meet the needs of the Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environment & Tourism.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement and delivery of the following firearms:

• 20 Pump action shotguns fitted with sling, bag, and cleaning kit
• 10 .458 caliber rifles with sling, bag, and cleaning kit
• 30 .308 caliber rifles with 20mm x 200m telescope, sling, bag, and cleaning kit
• 20 .375 caliber rifles with 20mm x 200m telescope, sling, bag, and cleaning kit
• 20 .22LR rifles with 20mm x 60m telescope, sling, bag, and cleaning kit

Total firearms to be supplied: 100.

Technical Requirements

• All firearms must meet the specifications outlined in the tender, including caliber/type and accessories such as slings, bags, cleaning kits, and telescopes where applicable.
• Suppliers must possess valid licenses under the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000, including dealer or manufacturer licenses, and provide proof of license renewal if applicable.
• Suppliers must submit certified copies of relevant licenses, proof of compliance, and other required documentation, all not older than 6 months from the closing date.
• The delivery must be completed within the timeframe specified in the bid, with all costs including taxes and overheads included in the bid price.
• Successful bidders must secure necessary permits for transportation of firearms prior to delivery.

Skills and Capacity Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying firearms to government or private sector clients, supported by reference letters indicating delivery periods, project values, and contact details.
• Demonstrated capacity to deliver the specified quantity within the required timeframe, with relevant contract experience for similar projects valued at R900,001 or more for higher points allocation.
• Financial capacity to undertake the supply, evidenced by bank letters or overdraft facilities not older than three months.
• Compliance with all legal and licensing requirements under the Firearms Control Act and related legislation.
• Ability to provide after-sales support, including warranty services for a period of 12 months post-delivery.
