Objectives

The primary objectives of this tender are to:

• Procure durable, mobile trailers suitable for screening travelers at nine Ports of Entry (PoE).
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and safety standards.
• Achieve timely delivery of trailers in accordance with specified requirements.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Procurement and delivery of nine (9) mobile screening trailers as per detailed specifications.
• Trailers must meet size specifications (e.g., 3.5m length x 1.7m width x 2m high), be double wheelbase, and include features such as service counters, stairs, storage cupboards, air conditioning, electrical connections, lighting, solar panels, branding, and other specified amenities.
• Trailers are to be delivered to designated land border regions across various provinces and ports of entry.
• Delivery timeframe: within three (3) months after order issuance.

Technical Requirements

The trailers must adhere to the following technical specifications:

• Size: 3.5 meters long, 1.7 meters wide, 2 meters high.
• Features:
  • Double wheelbase with 3 jockey stands and jockey wheel.
  • Service counter and two chairs inside.
  • External counter with stairs, opening width of 30 meters.
  • Storage cupboards for stationary, PPE, and sanitisers.
  • Two-layer shelves, sanitiser and paper towel dispensers.
  • Self-closing 10-liter refuse bin, air conditioning, electrical connections, LED lighting, floodlights, solar panels, branding, and lockable couplers.
  • Metal sunshade with foldable side canvas.
  • Registration papers and roadworthy certification.
• Trailers must be suitable for use as shelters at border points with limited screening areas.
• Warranty: Two-year manufacturer’s warranty covering structural integrity, materials, and workmanship.

Skills and Experience Requirements

The service provider must demonstrate:

• Proven track record in supplying and delivering mobile trailers.
• Compliance with South African health and safety standards, including Occupational Health and Safety Act (No. 85 of 1993), electrical, and construction standards.
• Technical capacity and expertise in similar projects involving mobile trailer procurement and delivery.
• Ability to conduct security checks or clearance if required.

Additional Requirements

The successful bidder will be responsible for:

• Covering travel and accommodation costs if necessary.
• Maintaining confidentiality of all shared information.
• Signing confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements.
• Ensuring timely delivery within the specified timeframe.
• Providing original receipts for disbursements, with disbursements not exceeding 10% of total payment.
