Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to carry out refurbishment works at the Hobhouse Doctors Consulting Room (DCR) in the Free State Province. The refurbishment aims to upgrade and renovate the existing facility, including electrical works, painting, ceiling repairs, floor upgrades, and civil engineering interventions to ensure structural integrity and water drainage.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Refurbishment of the Hobhouse DCR, including painting, ceiling repairs/replacements, and upgrading floor finishes.
• Electrical installations to meet regulatory standards, including rewiring, lighting, socket outlets, and distribution board upgrades.
• Civil engineering works such as drainage channels, water management infrastructure, and foundation protection to prevent flooding.
• Plumbing and drainage repairs, including water supply, waste pipes, and sanitary fittings.
• Construction activities involving civil works, electrical, plumbing, and finishing trades as detailed in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Completion of at least three general building projects of any value, with proof of experience.
• Registration with the CIDB as a Grade 2 GB or higher in General Building (GB) class of works.
• Provision of valid CIDB certificates, company registration documents, tax compliance status, and Central Supplier Database report.
• Adherence to civil engineering standards for drainage, water management, and foundation protection.
• Electrical works compliant with SANS 10142-1, including wiring, lighting, socket outlets, distribution boards, and surge protection.
• Plumbing and drainage installations conforming to local authority regulations, with proper fall and accessibility.
• Provision of all necessary materials, labour, plant, and transport to complete the works as specified.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• Experience in general building refurbishment projects, with documented completion and client references.
• Qualified personnel with CIDB registration and relevant technical expertise in civil, electrical, and plumbing works.
• Capability to execute civil engineering works such as drainage and foundation protection.
• Proficiency in adhering to safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the project.
• Ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary trades and manage project timelines effectively.
