Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider for the hiring of yellow plant machinery on an as-and-when-required basis for Table Mountain National Park. The aim is to ensure the availability of various plant machinery to support SANParks' operational and maintenance activities within the park.

Scope

The scope of work includes the provision of a range of yellow plant machinery and related services, such as:

• Hiring of various types of machinery including TLBs, rollers, tipper trucks, graders, water trucks, concrete mixers, and roller compactors.
• Delivery and operation within specified locations in the park, including City Bowl, Atlantic Seaboard, Newlands Forest, Tokai, Silvermine, Red Hill, Cape Point, and Simons' Town.
• Provision of equipment with operators and fuel (wet rates), as well as dry rates for concrete mixers.
• Additional services such as transportation of machinery (rollback trucks) and specialized equipment like vibro rollers and graders.

The services are to be delivered on an as-and-when-required basis, adhering to SANParks' operational hours and safety protocols.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of machinery that complies with safety standards, including the use of appropriate PPE (helmets, safety glasses, high-visibility clothing).
• Machinery must be operated by qualified personnel holding valid driver’s licenses.
• Adherence to SANParks' access permissions and work site protocols, including prior approval for site access.
• Machinery must be maintained in good working condition and suitable for the specified tasks and locations.
• Provision of detailed rates for each equipment type, including wet (with operator and fuel) and dry rates.
• Compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and operational standards as specified by SANParks.

Skills Requirements

The skills requirements for bidders include:

• Qualified operators with valid licenses and experience in operating the specified machinery.
• Ability to deliver equipment promptly and operate within designated locations and timeframes.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations relevant to park operations.
• Capability to provide maintenance and support services as needed.
• Understanding of SANParks’ operational procedures and compliance requirements.
