Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider responsible for the supply, installation, and configuration of network infrastructure and internet connectivity at the Tshwane Automotive Special Economic Zone (TASEZ) for a period of 3 years. The goal is to establish a reliable, secure, and scalable network environment that supports TASEZ’s industrial and operational needs, including Wi-Fi management, connectivity to municipal LAN, internet access, and last-mile broadband services.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Provision of network infrastructure components such as cabling, switches, routers, firewalls, and Wi-Fi access points.
• Installation and configuration of Wi-Fi management platform using a Unifi Controller, including setting up three SSIDs with specified security and access controls.
• Provisioning of a dedicated 100Mbps broadband fibre internet dataline with ongoing maintenance and proactive monitoring.
• Pre-installation and post-installation heatmapping, user acceptance testing, bandwidth, and speed testing.
• Design, commissioning, and monitoring of the network system over the 3-year contract period.
• Provision of detailed project execution plans, technical documentation, and system labels.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Wi-Fi network controlled via a Unifi Controller located at TASEZ, managing all access points and configurations.
• Configuration of three SSIDs: one for internet and municipal LAN, one for internet only with lower bandwidth, and a secure SSID with password authentication.
• Provision of hardware such as network switches, patch panels, fibre cabling, and Wi-Fi access points.
• Provisioning of a 100Mbps broadband fibre dataline with maintenance and monitoring.
• Full system design, installation, heatmapping, user acceptance testing, and ongoing system management for 3 years.
• Compliance with specified standards, including heatmapping, bandwidth testing, and security configurations.

Skills Requirements

The tender specifies the following skills and qualifications:

• Company experience in similar network infrastructure projects, with references and contact details.
• Qualified key personnel, including network installers/technicians with relevant certifications (e.g., OEM Certified Installer).
• A comprehensive project execution plan demonstrating understanding of scope, timelines, and technical support.
• Proven ability to configure and manage Wi-Fi networks using Unifi platform, including SSID setup and security management.
• Capability to provide ongoing maintenance, proactive monitoring, and troubleshooting over the 3-year contract period.
• Compliance with local content, B-BBEE, and tax regulations, supported by relevant certificates and documentation.
