Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider responsible for supplying labour force and materials necessary for reactive maintenance within the Tsitiskamma Section of Garden Route National Park. The engagement is for a period of 12 months, aiming to ensure the proper upkeep and functionality of park infrastructure and facilities.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of a workforce to undertake general maintenance activities within Tsitsikamma National Park.
• Supply of materials required for maintenance, including plumbing fittings, electrical components, timber, paints, sealants, fasteners, and other hardware.
• All routine and ad-hoc maintenance tasks to support infrastructure such as buildings, offices, chalets, staff houses, and common areas.
• Transporting workers and materials within the park as needed.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Provision of a workforce comprising site supervisors, skilled workers, semi-skilled workers, and general workers.
• Adherence to safety standards, with contractors providing PPE such as conti-suits and safety boots, while SANParks supplies general PPE like gloves and goggles.
• Supply of materials with a specified mark-up (e.g., 20%) covering procurement, storage, handling, and transport.
• Compliance with all relevant standards and conditions within the park environment.
• Filling and signing of contractual documentation (e.g., Contract Form SBD 7) upon award.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Capability to manage and coordinate maintenance activities effectively.
• Experience in supplying and handling maintenance materials, ensuring quality and standards compliance.
• Ability to mobilize and manage a workforce with the necessary skills for reactive maintenance tasks.
• Adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Compliance with administrative and legal requirements, including tax compliance, registration on the Central Supplier Database, and submission of mandatory documents such as CIDB registration and B-BBEE verification.
