Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to perform new network installation and ongoing network maintenance at Department of Agriculture (DoA) offices across South Africa. The work is to be executed on a time and material basis for a period of one (1) year, ensuring timely and efficient network setup and upkeep to support departmental operations.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Installation of new network infrastructure at various DoA offices nationwide.
• Provision of network maintenance services to ensure continuous and reliable network performance.
• Work to be carried out on a time and material basis over a one-year period.
• All activities must adhere to the specifications and requirements outlined in the tender documentation.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Design, installation, and commissioning of network infrastructure compliant with industry standards.
• Provision of necessary hardware, cabling, and network components.
• Regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services to ensure optimal network performance.
• Compliance with the Department’s technical specifications and standards.
• Provision of technical documentation, manuals, and reports as required.
• Adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards during installation and maintenance activities.

Skills Requirements

The successful service provider must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in network installation and maintenance across multiple sites.
• Technical expertise in networking hardware, cabling, and configuration.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and best practices.
• Ability to provide technical support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
• Qualified personnel with relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco, CompTIA Network+).
• Capacity to manage multiple sites and coordinate activities efficiently.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations applicable to network installation and maintenance.
