Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to deliver landscaping and gardening services at ATNS Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth) Station and various related locations. The contract is for a period of five (5) years, on an “as and when” required basis, ensuring the maintenance and enhancement of the station’s outdoor environments.

Scope

The scope includes comprehensive gardening and landscaping services such as:

• Maintenance of existing gardens and plantings, including weeding, pruning, and debris removal.
• Planting, replanting, and cultivation activities, including soil preparation, fertilization, and watering.
• Management of trees, ground covers, and perennials through splitting, replanting, and removal of self-seeded seedlings.
• Regular cleaning of roads and pathways, leaf and grass clipping utilization, and general site tidiness.
• Adherence to safety, environmental, and operational standards, including obtaining necessary permits for airside access.
• Periodic reporting, compliance audits, and addressing ad hoc management requests.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass:

• Provision of experienced personnel, including a qualified site supervisor with relevant experience.
• Implementation of a detailed operational plan aligned with scope and site-specific needs.
• Use of appropriate equipment, tools, and herbicides, following manufacturer’s specifications and safety protocols.
• Compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, including PPE and safety signage.
• Maintenance of site infrastructure, including pathways, paved areas, and existing installations.
• Regular site inspections, quality assurance, and documentation of work performed.
• Adherence to ATNS policies, including confidentiality, confidentiality of proprietary information, and data protection laws.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in landscaping, gardening, and horticultural services, supported by reference letters from past clients.
• Operational capacity with a comprehensive plan and qualified personnel, including a site supervisor with relevant experience.
• Technical expertise in soil cultivation, planting, pruning, pest and weed control, and landscape maintenance.
• Knowledge of safety standards, environmental regulations, and airside operational procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple sites, coordinate schedules, and respond promptly to ad hoc requests.
• Capability to provide reports, maintain records, and ensure compliance with ATNS requirements.
