The primary objective of this tender is to establish a three (3) months strategic partnership with a qualified and experienced Occupational Health & Wellness (OH&W) service provider. The goal is to support and enhance SAFCOL’s health and wellness initiatives, contribute to risk mitigation, promote employee wellbeing, and align with the company's strategic goals and sustainability mandate.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

  • Establishment of an integrated occupational health and wellness program for SAFCOL's dispersed operations across multiple regions.
  • Conducting pre-employment, periodic, transfer, and exit medical examinations aligned with job risk profiles.
  • Monitoring employee exposure to occupational hazards (chemical, biological, physical, ergonomic, psychosocial).
  • Ensuring fitness for work and early detection of work-related illnesses through various tests (pressure, glucose, BMI, urine, height, weight, etc.).
  • Promoting awareness, prevention, and response to COVID-19 and other communicable diseases.
  • Screening, early detection, and referral of health issues.
  • Participating in safety meetings, inspecting first aid kits, and hygiene assessments.
  • Providing health education on chronic disease prevention, wellness, and healthy lifestyle promotion.
  • Offering primary health care services for minor illnesses and injuries, including vital signs monitoring, health history, symptom screening, and referrals.
  • Managing chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma, etc., through confidential registers and regular monitoring.
  • Supporting HIV/AIDS awareness, testing, treatment, and psychosocial support via PPP.
  • Providing psychosocial and emotional support, workplace support, substance abuse support, legal and financial guidance, and access to Employee Assistance Programs (EAP).
  • Supporting rehabilitation, return-to-work, and reintegration programs.
  • Participating in safety and hygiene inspections and health education initiatives.
  • Provision of mobile clinics in highveld regions with specified vehicle and operational standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

  • Demonstration of at least five (5) years’ experience in providing OH&W services to organizations with a workforce of 1,000+ employees, supported by contactable reference letters.
  • Provision of qualified Occupational Medical Practitioners (OMP) with at least three (3) years’ experience, MBChB qualifications, HPCSA registration, and proof of practice number.
  • Availability of a fully equipped mobile medical clinic, including vehicle ownership or valid lease/rental agreements, with proof of registration (NaTIS documents).
  • Development of a comprehensive project plan covering all twelve (12) scope aspects, demonstrating understanding and alignment with the scope of work.
  • Provision of at least one mobile clinic van capable of executing services in highveld areas, with detailed specifications and proof of ownership or lease agreements.
  • Participation in mobile clinic inspection to verify compliance with specified standards.
  • Pricing submission inclusive of VAT, with detailed cost breakdowns for services over the three-month period.
