Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider responsible for supplying and delivering library books and related materials to Rand West City Community Libraries on an as-and-when-required basis over a period of thirty-six months.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of a wide range of library materials, including:

• Fiction: Afrikaans, English, Vernacular Toddler, Junior, and Adult Fiction, including Large Print editions.
• Non-Fiction: Toddler, Junior, and Adult Non-Fiction.
• Reference: Junior and Adult Reference materials.
• Textbooks: Academic and School Textbooks.

Additionally, the supplier must be linked to a warehouse from which books can be selected directly from shelves.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of books across specified categories and formats.
• Linkage to a warehouse for efficient stock management and selection.
• Provision of books in various languages and formats, including large print editions.
• Adherence to delivery schedules and quality standards.
• Inclusion of supply and delivery costs in the bid prices, with no additional claims for transportation.

Skills and Experience Requirements

• Experience as a book supplier or vendor, demonstrated through at least five appointment letters or purchase orders with reference letters, signed by previous clients.
• Ownership or lawful occupation of a warehouse or distribution facility, evidenced by lease agreements or municipal accounts.
• Ownership or access to at least one light delivery vehicle, supported by an E-Natis certificate in the company's or directors' names.
• Compliance with administrative and legal requirements, including company registration, BBBEE certification, tax compliance, and municipal accounts.
• Ability to supply books linked to a warehouse for direct shelf selection.
