Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a supplier capable of providing self-inflatable life jackets to SAEON. The life jackets are intended to enhance safety for personnel conducting fieldwork at sea, offering automatic inflation upon contact with water, comfort, and compliance with maritime safety standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes the supply of 20 self-inflatable life jackets (brands such as Laliza, Viking, or similar) that are:

• Suitable for maritime operations and compliant with relevant safety standards (SAMSA/SOLAS).
• Delivered to SAEON Elwandle, 4 Gomery Avenue, Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth.
• New, serviceable, and fit for purpose.

The contract period is for the supply of these goods, with delivery to be completed as per the specified requirements.

Technical Requirements

• Self-inflatable mechanism with automatic inflation upon contact with water.
• Compliance with maritime safety standards (SAMSA/SOLAS).
• Lightweight, low-profile design for ease of movement.
• Delivery of 20 units in good condition, with proof of manufacture and delivery (invoice or contactable reference).
• All jackets must be new, serviceable, and compliant with relevant maritime safety standards.

Skills and Skills Requirements

While the tender primarily focuses on the supply of goods, the supplier should demonstrate:

• Experience in supplying maritime safety equipment, specifically self-inflatable life jackets.
• Ability to provide certification and proof of compliance with safety standards.
• Capability to deliver within the specified timeframe and to the specified location.
• Provision of relevant documentation such as invoices, certificates of manufacture, and references from previous clients.
