Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint an accredited service provider to deliver a five-day training program on Model Maker and Survey Maker software. The training aims to enhance the technical capacity of fifteen (15) Land Survey, GIS, Spatial Planning, and Valuations staff within the Department of Cooperative Governance & Traditional Affairs (CoGTA). Specific objectives include:

• Enable participants to import and process survey data from various sources such as total stations, GPS, and drones.
• Facilitate the creation, editing, and analysis of digital terrain models (DTMs).
• Design and model topographic and cadastral layouts for planning and infrastructure development.
• Calculate volumes, contours, and earthworks.
• Produce cadastral drawings, layout plans, and reports for submission to the Surveyor General.
• Integrate outputs with CAD, GIS, Google Earth, and other planning systems.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

1. Training Delivery: Conduct a comprehensive five-day training covering theoretical and practical aspects of Model Maker and Survey Maker software, including data import, terrain modeling, layout design, and data integration.
2. Training Materials & Software: Provide digital manuals, sample datasets, and ensure access to the software for all participants.
3. Venue & Facilities: Arrange suitable training facilities in East London with necessary amenities such as internet, projection equipment, power outlets, notepads, and water.
4. Catering: Provide morning tea/coffee and full lunch with specified items for each participant.
5. Post-Training Support: Offer a minimum of 30 days of support to assist participants in implementation and troubleshooting.
6. Deliverables: Include a detailed training program, manuals, attendance certificates, and a report summarizing outcomes and feedback.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of valid Model Maker and Survey Maker software licenses for instructional purposes.
• Demonstration of successful completion of at least three (3) relevant training projects within the past five years, supported by reference letters.
• Academic qualification in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related fields, with 3-5 years’ experience in using Model Maker and associated modules.
• Provision of a detailed methodology outlining the approach, timeline, and execution plan.
• Suitable training venue in East London with internet, projection equipment, power outlets, and appropriate layout.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in delivering Model Maker and Survey Maker training, evidenced by reference letters and project history.
• Qualified trainers with relevant academic credentials and practical experience in land surveying, geomatics, or civil engineering.
• Ability to develop and deliver comprehensive training content, including theoretical and practical components.
• Competence in providing post-training support and assessment of participant skills.
• Strong logistical and facilitation skills to manage venue, materials, and participant engagement effectively.
