Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a panel of qualified service providers responsible for the repairs, maintenance, and servicing of municipal plant machinery, trucks, and equipment for Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality over a period of thirty-six (36) months, as and when required.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Provision of repairs, maintenance, and servicing of a wide range of municipal machinery, trucks, and equipment including excavators, graders, water tankers, lowbeds, compactors, trailers, loaders, and various other vehicles and machinery.
• Carrying out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including oil changes, brake checks, tyre replacements, greasing, and inspections.
• Providing technical support, inspections, and testing as per manufacturer specifications.
• Engaging subcontractors where applicable, with prior approval.
• Adhering to specified standards, specifications, and contractual obligations over the contract period.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with manufacturer specifications for all repairs and services.
• Provision of qualified personnel with relevant trade and professional certifications.
• Availability of physical workshops and resources, including owned or leased facilities.
• Provision of necessary insurances, including public liability insurance of at least R500,000.00.
• Demonstration of relevant experience in repairing and maintaining similar municipal machinery and vehicles.
• Provision of detailed CVs and proof of qualifications for key personnel.
• Adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards.
• Use of approved spare parts and consumables, ensuring quality and compatibility.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Technical expertise in servicing a variety of heavy machinery, trucks, and specialized equipment.
• Qualified staff with trade test certificates, relevant experience, and professional registrations.
• Capability to perform diagnostics, testing, and repairs as per manufacturer standards.
• Experience in managing maintenance schedules and coordinating subcontractors if applicable.
• Proven track record of working with municipal or similar public sector clients.
• Ability to provide timely and efficient service, with a focus on minimizing downtime.
• Capacity to supply and manage spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for repairs.
• Compliance with all legal, safety, and environmental regulations.
