Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to deliver comprehensive services including maintenance, repairs, and supply of standby generators for SABC Mpumalanga over a period of five (5) years. The aim is to ensure reliable operation and maintenance of generators to support SABC’s operational requirements.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Provision of all labour, materials, tools, machinery, equipment, transportation, and utilities necessary for generator maintenance and repairs.
• Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer’s manuals, including coolant changes, filter replacements, mechanical adjustments, electrical testing, and supply of consumables.
• Reactive maintenance including attending to callouts, fault repairs, and emergency repairs on generators and associated equipment.
• Supply of hired generators on an ad-hoc basis as required.
• Work to be scheduled to avoid interference with normal operations, with inspections and sign-offs conducted jointly with SABC representatives.
• Adherence to operational hours from 08:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, with provisions for after-hours emergency responses.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Generators must meet specified models and capacities, including D1146T (116KVA), AT 250 LB3TEL (60KVA), Ryobi RG-7900K (6KVA), Dometic FW300-B (3.3KVA).
• Mandatory submission of documentation such as CIDB contractor grading (2EP & 2ME), proof of CSD registration, valid TV licenses, tax clearance, BBBEE certification, company registration, shareholder certificates, and ID documents.
• Implementation of preventative and reactive maintenance as per manufacturer’s guidelines and SABC standards.
• Response times categorized into emergency (within 2 hours), urgent (within 4 hours), and routine, with prompt attendance to all breakdowns.
• Compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies, including safety permits, PPE, and waste disposal regulations.
• Performance monitoring through KPIs such as service quality, on-time delivery, and response times.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in generator maintenance, repairs, and servicing, supported by reference letters and proof of past projects.
• Qualified human resources, including certified technicians with relevant CVs and certificates.
• Ability to respond promptly to emergency and scheduled maintenance requests.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, environmental compliance, and security protocols at SABC premises.
• Capacity to provide continuous improvement and quality assurance in service delivery.
