Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint service providers to conduct hydrogeological investigations at 128 schools with circuit offices across Limpopo Province. The investigations aim to assess groundwater resources to support water supply and sanitation projects in these schools.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Hydrogeological surveys and investigations at designated schools.
• Drilling boreholes up to a maximum depth of 120 meters, including steel casing and complete borehole construction as per guidelines.
• Water quality testing by SANAS-accredited laboratories.
• Yield testing and collection of water samples from existing and new boreholes.
• Monitoring and supervision of borehole development and equipment installation as required.
• Coordination with other service providers and adherence to environmental and energy-efficient design principles.
• Provision of detailed reports and documentation for each site.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Engagement of qualified hydrogeologists registered with SACNASP.
• Provision of proof of professional indemnity insurance.
• Use of appropriate drilling and testing equipment compliant with standards.
• Implementation of quality assurance systems.
• Use of compatible software for project documentation and reporting.
• Adherence to the minimum standards and guidelines for groundwater resource development.
• Effective coordination with the Limpopo Department of Education and other stakeholders.

Skills Requirements

The skills and personnel requirements include:

• At least two professional hydrogeologists registered with SACNASP per company.
• Experienced technical staff for drilling, water testing, and supervision.
• Capability to prepare detailed hydrogeological reports and documentation.
• Ability to coordinate logistics and site access in rural and remote areas.
• Proficiency in using project management and reporting software.
• Understanding of environmental sustainability and green design principles.
