Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint two (2) developers responsible for the installation of internal services—including water, sewer, storm water, and roads—at 500 sites each within Boitekong Extension 39 (Popo Molefe) in Rustenburg Local Municipality. The project aims to facilitate urban development by providing essential infrastructure to designated sites, supporting housing and community growth in line with national standards and local priorities.

Scope

The scope encompasses the construction and installation of:

• Roads: Gravel roads with storm-water control, including bus routes, primary and secondary roads.
• Storm Water Control: Roadside channels with piped crossings, concrete-lined where grades exceed 1 in 10.
• Erosion Protection: Measures at storm-water discharge points and along channels/valley lines.
• Water Supply: Individual connections with meters for each site.
• Sanitation: Waterborne sewer systems for each site.

The construction must adhere to approved designs by the Rustenburg Local Municipality and the Department of Human Settlements, following the Guidelines for Human Settlement Planning and the National Housing Code.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of roads, storm water drainage, water reticulation, and sewer reticulation as per the detailed project scope.
• Construction of roads with storm-water control infrastructure, including concrete-lined channels where necessary.
• Installation of individual water meters and sewer connections at each site.
• Implementation of erosion control measures at discharge points and along channels.
• Compliance with approved designs and standards, including civil engineering and storm-water management.

The contractors must ensure quality workmanship, timely delivery, and adherence to safety and environmental standards, supported by detailed work programmes, delivery schedules, and methodology plans.
